Another war memorial was then erected as a temporary fixture and located back further from Harris Street but closer to the hub of college activity behind the existing Building D. This was made of brick and incorporated the flagpoles and the original plaques.

The memorial was based in this location from 1973 until about 1980 when building works again required other arrangements. It was then demolished and another interim memorial made of wood in between temporary flagpoles was erected in front of Building Z (the current location of the child care centre). This second interim memorial remained at this location until the ANZAC Day ceremony in 1983.
